In 1916 as an officer in the Habsburg Army ethnic Romanian Apostol Bologa is torn between remaining loyal to the Habsburgs or deserting to the Romanian Army across enemy lines.

A crime committed in Bucharest opens the door to a mystery much greater than it seems. Edi, a police inspector, discovers that the answers are not only in the files, but also in signs that no one else can see.

This short film was created by a group of Indigenous filmmakers at the NFB in 1972 and is essentially a song by Willie Dunn sung by Bob Charlie and illustrated by John Fadden: "Who were the ones who bid you welcome and took you by the hand, inviting you here by our campfires, as brothers we might stand?" The song expresses bitter memories of the past, of trust repaid by treachery, and of friendship debased by exploitation upon the arrival of European colonists.

The Who's seminal double album 'Tommy', released in 1969, is a milestone in rock history. It revitalized the band's career and established Pete Townshend as a composer and Roger Daltrey as one of rock's foremost frontmen. The first album to be overtly billed as a 'rock opera', 'Tommy' has gone on to sell over 20 million copies around the world and has been reimagined as both a film by Ken Russell in the mid-seventies and a touring stage production in the early nineties. This new film explores the background, creation and impact of 'Tommy' through new interviews with Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey, archive interviews with the late John Entwistle, and contributions from engineer Bob Pridden, artwork creator Mike McInnerney plus others involved in the creation of the album and journalists who assess the album s historic and cultural impact.

The two 10-year-olds, Charlene Lunnon and Lisa Hoodless, were abducted as they made the short walk to school from their homes in an unnamed seaside town on January 19, 1999. A convicted paedophile drew up in a car, grabbed them, covering their mouths as they screamed, and bundled them into the vehicle's boot. Child protection officers called at Alan Hopkinson's home on a hunch, and found the girls "distressed" but safe, sitting together on a bed. Hopkinson, 45, from Eastbourne, East Sussex, pleaded guilty at Lewes Crown Court to two charges of kidnap, two of false imprisonment and nine assaults. The unemployed computer programmer also admitted 11 counts of assault against two other girls aged 10 and 11 in 1998. Ten other charges of assault would lie on the file, the court was told.
